Lauren Luebbe and Lance Korell Named Regis SAAC Student-Athletes of the Month for February

Denver, Colo.: T he Regis University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee today named their February Athletes of the Month.  Senior Lauren Luebbe of the women's basketball team and junior Lance Korell of the men's basketball team were each honored.

Lauren Luebbe: 

Lauren Luebbe finished her senior season at Regis with many accomplishments. She led her team in points per game (11), shot 41 percent from the three-point line, 75 percent from the free-throw line, and started all 26 games. Off the court she was just as talented, receiving First Team RMAC All Academic and Capital One All District Team.

Luebbe is a senior from Rochester, Minn. and is majoring in nursing.

Q: What are your game day rituals/superstitions?
A: I always have to eat some form of chocolate before I play. I also always have to brush my teeth and mouth guard.

Q: What three people, dead or alive, would you invite to dinner?
A: Jesus Christ, My Grandpa John, and My Grandma Dolly

Q: What talent do you wish you had?
A: To be able to sing or play the piano really well.

Lance Korell: 

Junior, Lance Korell had a great first season for the Rangers. He started all 26 games, and was ranked third on the team in points per game (10). He shot 76 percent from the free-throw line and made a total of 51 three point shots (highest on the team). Off the court Lance is a great student, making the Fall Dean's List with a 4.0 GPA. 

Korell is a junior from Eaton, Colo. and transferred from Eastern Wyoming Junior College.  He is majoring in math at Regis.

A: I like to eat a candy bar and drink a half a Gatorade before a game.
