Men's Basketball Ends Season with 85-68 Loss to CSU-Pueblo

Denver, Colo.: The 2012-13 Regis men's basketball season came to an end Saturday night following an 85-68 loss to CSU-Pueblo.

Regis, who finished the season 9-16 overall and 8-14 in the RMAC, led for the first 12:24 of the first half.  Junior Jarrett Green made a layup at the 10:59 mark of the first half to give Regis a 21-13 lead.  21 wasn't a good number for the Rangers as they failed to score again for nearly seven minutes.  CSU-Pueblo (15-13, 14-8 RMAC) took advantage of the situation and scored 25 straight points to take a commanding 38-21 lead with 4:29 remaining in the first half.  The Thunderwolves went into halftime with a 49-36 lead.

Regis chipped away at the lead and cut it to as little as seven points, 64-57, with 11:12 remaining.  However, five minutes later, CSU-Pueblo put 10 more points on that lead and cruised to the 85-68 win.

CSU-Pueblo shot a blistering 58.3 percent with Regis not far behind at 51.0 percent.  Jarrett Green had another 20-point game with 21 points on 6-for-9 shooting. Freshman Kevin Marshall put in 13 points and dished out a game-high five assists.  Sophomore Dylan King came off the bench to put in 13 also.

Senior Demitrius Owens was also in double figures with 11 points and led Regis with six rebounds.

Regis will graduate two seniors, Owens and Dionte Goodlett.
