Rangers Drop Road Game to Nebraska-Kearney 83-61


Nebraska, Kearney: After facing Chadron State on Thursday, the Rangers traveled to Kearney, Neb. where they fell 83-61 to the Lopers on Saturday. Tae'lor Purdy scored 16 points in the game while Jacque Machesney scored 15. They also pulled down six and five boards respectively.

The Rangers took the first lead of the game 3-0 on a deep shot by Jacque Machesney. That would be the only lead that Regis would have during the first half. At the 13:41 mark, the Rangers went on a 5-0 run to bring the margin within two (17-15) with 12:11 remaining. The Lopers walked away at the break with a 14 point lead.

During the second period baskets were exchanged until Kearney grabbed the 83-61 victory.

Behind Purdy and Machesney in scoring was Chelsea Porter who totaled for nine points in the game. She also grabbed three rebounds for the Rangers.

Up next, Regis will face Colorado Mines in Golden on Feb. 12th. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
