Four Rangers Named to RMAC Academic All-Conference Honor Roll

Colorado Springs, Colo.:  Four Ranger women garnered RMAC Academic All-Conference Honors this week as posted by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  Senior Kari Ameling and juniors Kellie DeremoMeghan Hollenga, and Kara Larson were all among the honored athletes.

Ameling, a psychology major from Greeley, Colo., boasts a 3.45 grade point average.  The 5-11 post has started in all 17 contests so far this season.  While averaging 23.8 minutes a game, She has pulled down 69 rebounds, averaging 4.1 a game.  She has also tallied 22 assists, five blocks and 29 steals.  Ameling has tallied 138 points this season, averaging 8.1 overall.

Deremo is a 6-0 forward from Dove Creek, Colo. that has garnered a 3.54 GPA while studying business management.  She has played in 15 contests thus far this season, obtaining 136 total minutes.  She has pulled down 17 rebounds, and put up six assists, two blocks and four steals.  Deremo has recorded 17 points on the season.

The 5-10 Hollenga from Colorado Springs, Colo. has a 3.53 GPA while studying public administration and social service professions.  The forward has started in all 17 contests this season, playing in 418 minutes.  She is hitting 45.7 percent from the field making 32-of-70.  Hollenga is second on the team with 100 total rebounds, averaging 5.9 per game.  She has tallied 13 assists, seven blocks and 22 steals.  Averaging 5.1 points per game, Hollenga is good for 87 Ranger points this season.

Post Larson has a 3.70 grade point average while studying biochemistry.  She has played in all 17 games this season, while starting in three.  She has hit on 24-of-62 from the field for a 38.7 percent average and 12-of-13 from the charity stripe for a team best 92.3 percent.  She has tallied 16 assists, 10 steals and three blocks while putting up 60 points and pulling down 47 rebounds.  Larson averages 2.8 rebounds and 3.5 points per game.
