SILVER CITY, N.M.: The Ranger women's basketball team finished their second to last game of the season with a 81-62 win over Western New Mexico University.
The women hit 44.4 percent from the field as a team and hit on 81.8 percent from the charity stripe. Three Rangers tallied double figure points during the game.
Post Kari Ameling scored 23 points in a 10-of-14 performance from the field and a 3-for-4 performance from the free throw line. She pulled down five rebounds, while tallying two steals and one assist.
Guard Brandi Collins led the team with 11 assists. She pulled down three rebounds and had two steals. She hit on 6-of-14 from the field and 5-of-11 from long distance for 18 points on the night.
Forward Tae'lor Purdy had 17 points for the Rangers. She hit on 5-of-1 from the field, 5-of-6 from the charity stripe and hit two three-pointers for the women. Purdy also had three steals, one assist and five rebounds.
The Rangers will finish out regular season play with a 5:00 PM away game against cross-town rival Metro State.
