Ranger Women’s Basketball Ends Season with a 70-58 Loss to Roadrunners

DENVER, Colo.:  The Ranger women's basketball team recorded a loss against the Roadrunners of Metro State Saturday night to end their 2011-12 season. 

Three Ranger women hit on double figures on the night while the women hit 33.3 percent from the field and 70.6 percent from the free throw line.

Forward Tae'lor Purdy led the Rangers with 15 points on the night.  She hit 4-of-13 from the field, 2-of-6 from long distance and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe.  She pulled down nine rebounds to lead the team, while picking up one assist, one steal and one block.

Guard Brandi Collins and post Kari Ameling each had 10 points apiece on the night.  Collins hit on 4-of-`5 from the field, while pulling down three rebounds and tallying two assists.

Ameling hit on 4-of-13 from the field and went a perfect 2-for-2 at the free throw line.  She also pulled down three rebounds while tallying three steals, two assists, and one block.

Also throughout the game, forward Sarah Feeney collected nine points and forward Meghan Hollenga pulled down eight rebounds.  Forward Miranda Martine was good for seven points on the night.

The women finish out their season with an 11-17 overall record and a 9-13 RMAC record.
