Skyhawks Big First Half Puts Rangers Under, Regis Falls 84-60 in Durango

DURANGO, Colo.:  Regis women's basketball fell in Durango Saturday night to Fort Lewis College.  The Skyhawks put in a big 41 point effort in the first half that the Rangers could not overcome, keeping the lead until snagging the 84-60 RMAC victory.

Regis junior Tae'lor Purdy led her team with 15 points on the night after hitting seven from the field and going 1-for-1 from the charity stripe.

Seniors Miranda Martine and Meghan Hollenga pulled down five rebounds apiece for the Rangers.  Martine also was good for 10 points and four assists, and Hollenga caused two FLC turnovers and put in one assist as well.

The Rangers hit 39.2 percent from field goal range, 38.9 from long distance and 72.2 from the free-throw line.

Regis returns home next weekend on Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2.  They will take on UC-Colorado Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday before finishing up regular season play Saturday against CSU-Pueblo.

The seven seniors will be honored before the 3:00 p.m. start Saturday.
