Rangers Close RMAC Regular Season with 69-58 Loss to ThunderWolves

DENVER, Colo.:  Regis women's basketball closed out the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season today with a 69-58 loss to CSU-Pueblo.  The Rangers earned an early lead in the first half, going up 29-22 over the ThunderWolves before the first 20 minutes were up.

Pueblo outscored RU 47-29, 27 points of which were off Ranger turnovers, in the second half. 

The Rangers hit 39.1 percent from the field, 31.6 from long distance and 84.2 from the free throw line.

Junior Tae'lor Purdy led the Ranger squad with 19 points to herself after hitting five from the field, two from three-point range and going 7-for-7 from the free throw line.  She also pulled down five rebounds on the night.

Seniors Kellie Deremo and Kara Larson led the Rangers with six rebounds apiece.  Fellow senior Miranda Martine added five herself for Regis.

The loss puts the Rangers at 10-16 overall, 9-13 in the RMAC for the 2013 regular season.  They will enter post season play on March 5.  The top four teams will host the quarterfinal games.
