Denver, Colo.: The Regis University women's lacrosse team has had a tough time against Colorado College over the years but today it would not be a good trip north for Colorado College as Regis won by a score of 19-4.
Regis (7-4) scored the final seven goals of the first half and the first eight of the second half to turn what was a 2-2 tie into a 17-2 lead. Regis, which had just beaten CC once in 15 tries, had their way outshooting Colorado College (3-8) 28-10 and once again controlled the draw controls by a 17-8 total. The Regis defense force the Tigers into 19 turnovers and they scored just 40 percent of their total shots.
10 different players scored for Regis led by four goals by Erin Dybus. Hilary Duda, Danica Cutshall, Emily Behr, Maribel Gallegos, and Katie Larson all tallied two goals. Duda and Sydney Tomlinson led Regis with two assists apiece.
Sierra Perrella and Gianna Lombardi led the defense with three ground balls apiece. Perrella forced four CC turnovers, while Kendra Burch was right behind with three. Cutshall again led the Rangers with six draw controls while Tomlinson came off the bench to get four.
Lombardi saved three of the 10 shots attempted playing all 60 minutes in goal.
Regis will play next weekend as they host Colorado Mesa on Saturday, April 13th at 1:00 p.m.
