Rangers Top the Nation in Statistical Category for Third Straight Season
Indianapolis, Ind.: The Regis University women's lacrosse team led all of NCAA Division II in caused turnovers per game at an even 12 a contest. RU tied with national champion Adelphi for the top honors in the category out of the 85 schools that sponsor women's lacrosse.
It marks the third straight season that the Rangers have topped the country in a statistical category. The previous two seasons RU led the NCAA in draw controls per game at 17.67 in 2013 and 17.12 in 2012.
It goes to show that defense does win championships with Regis winning the inaugural RMAC Tournament in May. The Rangers also ranked fourth in Division II in scoring defense at 6.47, while ranking eighth in scoring margin at 8.29.
Regis ended the season with a school record 14 wins against just three losses and were ranked 15th in the final IWLCA Coaches Poll.
