Katie Ziemnik enters her second season at Regis University in 2020-21 under head coach Molly Marrin. Ziemnik joined Marrin’s staff after spending two seasons at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D.
While at BHSU, Ziemnik was the top assistant and recruiting coordinator. In her two seasons, Ziemnik compiled a record of 40-19 overall and helped five players garner All-RMAC awards. Ziemnik helped guide the Yellow Jackets to their second-ever NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Tournament appearance in 2018 and received the highest National Women's Basketball Coaches Association (NWBCA) ranking of No. 13 in the 2018-19 season.
Prior to working at Black Hills State, Ziemnik worked at Arizona State University for two years as the graduate assistant for the women’s basketball team. She was a part of the team's Pac-12 Conference Championship in 2016. Ziemnik also coached girls high school basketball at Mullen High School and for the Colorado Premier Basketball Club in 2015.
Originally from Oswego, Ill., Ziemnik earned her bachelor of science in nursing at Illinois Wesleyan University in 2013. While at IWU, she helped her team to the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball National Semifinals. She received her master's degree in family and human development from ASU in 2017.
