Emge and Chilaka's Two Goals Apiece Power Rangers to 4-1 Win over CSU-Pueblo

Denver, Colo.: Two goals each by junior Kyle Emge and freshman Ndo Chilaka powered the Rangers to a 4-1 win over CSU-Pueblo in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's soccer action.  16th-ranked Regis, now 10-1-2, spent the majority of the afternoon in CSU-Pueblo's end outshooting the Thunderwolves 30-7.

Emge, who is tied for the team lead with eight goals, scored just 3:34 into the match when Chilaka passed to Emge in the middle of the field and Emge turned and blasted a shot past the goalkeeper.  15 second before halftime, Regis got a big boost going into the break when Patrick Freeman served the ball to the top of the box and freshman Nicolas Morabito headed it to Emge and he again found a spot in the back of the net.

Chilaka scored his third and fourth goals of the season in the second half when senior Nathan Kafer found Chilaka in the middle of the field and he was able to use his strong leg to get the ball through defenders and past the goalkeeper.

With 10:15 remaining CSU-Pueblo got on the board on a penalty kick from Brandon Herre to cut the lead to 3-1.  Just under five minutes later, Chilaka put away any doubts the Rangers had when he got a pass to the middle from junior Ben Buhler who beat his man on the right sideline and with his left foot again was able to find the upper left hand corner of the net.

Freshman Doug Passalqua earned the victory in goal, his ninth of the season, allowing just the one goal and making a great kick save in the first half.  With one more victory, Passalaqua will set the Regis freshman season record.  He is currently tied with Derek Dilts who had nine during the 1992 season.

Regis will finish their three-match week when they host defending NCAA Division II national champions and 25th-ranked Fort Lewis on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
