Denver, Colo.: The Rangers were outscored by ten points in the first half and 13 in the second half to fall by 23 to the University of Tampa Spartans on Saturday in the final game of the Regis/Mines Women's Basketball Classic at the Regis Fieldhouse. Three Rangers scored in double digits in the game with Lauren Luebbe leading the way with 17 points. Salina Kuiper and Kari Ameling followed with 12 points each.

During the first few minutes of the game, the lead was tossed around as both teams fought to get ahead. Halfway through the first half, the score had been tied six times before the Spartans went on a 12-0 run over a period of about three minutes to increase their lead to 13 (37-24) with 3:41 remaining. The Rangers went into the break with a ten point deficit (40-30).

About two minutes into the second half, Tampa increased their lead to 15 before Regis went on a 12-4 run to come within seven of the Spartans. Before the closing of the game, Tampa again increased their lead, this time to 23, to walk away with an 84-61 victory over the Rangers.

Ameling led the team in boards pulling down eight followed by Luebbe who grabbed six. Chelsea Porter and Kaitie Vader each snagged five. The Rangers tallied 12 assists in the game.

Up next, Regis will face Western N.M. in their first RMAC matchup this season on Dec. 3rd. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. in Silver City, N.M.
