Box Score Denver, Colo.: Along with pulling down 51 boards against Chadron State, the Rangers grabbed a 13 point victory, 74-61, over the Eagles as they hosted CSC on Friday. Leading the team in rebounds was 5-6 guard Kaitie Vader who snagged ten followed by Kari Ameling with nine. As Ameling helped lead Regis with boards she also totaled for 20 points on the night. Salina Kuiper followed with 11.
The Eagles had the lead for much of the first half up until the 4:39 mark when Regis tied the score at 30. This tie sent the Rangers on a 21-4 run that took them into the 14 minute mark of the second half breaking the game wide open (53-34).
While the Eagles fought back hard to come within seven of Regis (55-48) with 10:57 remaining, the Rangers went on another run to stay on top of Chadron. This time, Regis scored 14 to CSC's four to have a 17 point lead (69-52) with just 4:36 left to play. During the final minutes of the game, Chadron was able to cut their deficit to 13 with Regis grabbing a 74-61 victory.
Chiming in with nine points of her own was Brandi Collins who was 3-for-5 from the field, 2-for-3 from long range, 1-for-2 from the charity stripe, and pulled down seven boards.
Up next, the Rangers will host Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
