Box Score 2 Denver, Colo.: For the second straight day the
Ranger volleyball team defeated a top 25 team, this time beating
#25 West Florida 3-2 behind 17 kills from senior Jessica
Howe. Regis fell in the first two sets but their
resilency showed in winning the next three at the Colorado Premier
Challenge.
Regis, now 4-4, led the whole way in sets four and five except
for two ties being aided by 13 total blocks including a career-high
10 by senior Erin
Anderson. All-Tournament team member junior Lyz Kann
connected on 16 kills to tie Howe with a .419 attack
percentage.
Senior setter Devin Eckhardt tallied 57 assists and led the
Ranger defense with 17 kills. Freshman Sage Martinson
collected 16 digs while Henzgen had another double-double with 12
digs.
With the win, Regis earned a trip to the Silver Bracket
championship against #14 Lewis University.

Henzgen's 18 kills were not enough against #14 Lewis as the
Rangers dropped to the Flyers in straight sets. Game scores
were 25-20, 25-23 and 27-25. Regis had more kills than Lewis
(8-1), 46-41 but errors did them in as they totalled 24 to 13 for
Lewis.
Martinson had a game-high 17 digs, while Henzgen tallied yet
another double-double with 11 digs. Sophomore Caitlin McDonnell earned a starting nod and came through with 10 kills and
led the way with two blocks. Eckhardt tallied 40 assists to
go along with nine digs.
The Rangers stay at home and begin Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference action on Thursday night as they do battle with Western
State at 7:00 p.m.
