Golden, Colo.: With a 2-1 loss to Colorado
Mines on Friday in Golden, the Rangers fall to 0-1 in the RMAC. Meghan Stuart
scored Regis' lone goal but the Rangers were unable match the two
scored by the Orediggers.
Just under 15 minutes into the first half, Stuart struck for
Regis (3-3-0, 0-1-0 RMAC) putting the Rangers up 1-0. Erin Kettmann shot
and the deflected ball, off of CSM goalie Briana Schulze, landed in
the cleats of Stuart who sent it to the back of the Orediggers
net.
This lead was short lived as CSM (2-1-2, 1-0-0 RMAC) scored just
over four minutes later when Megan Woodworth took a penalty kick
for the Orediggers. The game was tied up until six and a half
minutes remained in the half when Mines grabbed a one goal
lead.
Woodworth scored a second time, her fourth this season, when she
took a free kick for CSM. This goal was the last of the game
leading Mines to a 2-1 victory over Regis.
Up next, the Rangers will face Mesa State on Sept., 19th at the
Regis Match Pitch. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
