Box Score Denver, Colo.: A night after holding Western
State to a -.010 hitting percentage, the Ranger defense did it
again holding Mesa State to a .018 attack percentage en route to a
straight set victory, 25-14, 25-21, 25-20 in Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference volleyball action.
Regis (6-4, 2-0 RMAC) and Mesa State (5-5, 0-2 RMAC) were tied
at 13 apiece in the first set when the Rangers went on a 12-1 run
to win the set going away. Regis only trailed nine times in
all three sets combined with seven of them coming in the final
frame.
The Rangers were again dangerous at the net defensively with 12
total blocks including six each by seniors Kerry Grady and Jessica
Howe. Freshman Christy
Henzgen again led the Ranger offensive attack with nine kills,
while Grady and Howe were close behind with eight and seven kills
respectively.
Senior setter Devin Eckhardt
led the Rangers with a .429 attack percentage (4-1-7) along with 27
assists and seven digs. Henzgen led the Rangers with 10 digs
while fellow freshman Sage Martinson
talled seven.
The Rangers will finish out their long weekend with a match
against Fort Lewis at the Regis Fieldhouse with first serve set for
4:00 p.m.
