Box Score Kansas, City, Mo. – The Ranger women's basketball team fell 63-52 to the Jets of Newman University in the opening game of the Catholic Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Rockhurst University.
Forward Tae'lor Purdy led the Ranger offense with 15 points. Purdy went a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line and helped the women to four rebounds in her 23 minutes. She also put down 2-for-4 three point attempts.
Forward Meghan Hollenga led the women with eight rebounds and put up 11 points on the day. Hollenga had two steals and one assist.
The women went 72.2% from the free throw line putting down 13 attempts out of 18. The Rangers were 42.9 from three-point range, excelling over the 31.2 that the Jets put up.
The Rangers continue on in the tournament at 1:00PM on Saturday, November 19th against Rockhurst.
