Box Score Golden, Colo.: The Ranger women's basketball team competed in their second game of the Regis/Colorado School of Mines Thanksgiving Classic. Regis dropped the match 66-55 to the University of Sioux Falls Cougars, bringing their record to 2-4 overall this season.
The Ranger defense forced the Cougars to 20 turnovers on the night while putting up 32 rebounds, 11 assists and nine steals.
The women outshot their opponents at the free throw line recording 68.2% with 15-of-22 made free throws.
Forward Sarah Feeney put up 16 points for the Rangers going 5-for-11 in the field and 5-for-6 at the charity stripe. She also pulled down five rebounds and tallied two steals.
Post Kari Ameling recorded five assists for the women, while pulling down four rebounds. The senior had three steals on the night along with putting up 11 points.
Forwards Tae'lor Purdy and Meghan Hollenga had seven and five rebounds respectively. Purdy also put up five points and tallied one assist while Hollenga dropped in 18 and had one steal for the Rangers.
Guard Brandi Collings recorded two rebounds, two assists, two steals and three points for the women. Off the bench, post Kara Larson went three-for-five on field goal attempts. She also went two-for-two on free throws while pulling down one rebound and helping the Rangers to one assist.
The women will play Western New Mexico on Friday, December 2nd at 7:00 PM. The game will take place in the Regis Field House in Denver, Colo.
