Box Score Chadron, Neb.: Ranger women's basketball dropped the third RMAC Conference game in their 2011-12 schedule to the Eagles of Chadron State College Friday night. This loss gives the women a 4-5 overall record and a 2-1 RMAC record.
The Eagles produced a six-point lead in the first half before shutting out the Rangers in the second by outscoring them 21-6 in the first eight minutes. This game resulted in the Eagles first win of the season, after seven losses.
Forwards Tae'lor Purdy and Sarah Feeney led the Ranger women on offense. Purdy netted 17 in her 33 minutes of play. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native had two steals and two assists, as well as leading the Ranger defense with 11 rebounds.
Feeney, a Bismarck, N.D. transplant, put up 13 points for the women, as well as assisting on one other and stealing four from the Eagles. She went 5-for-10 from the field and was a perfect 3-of-3 at the charity stripe.
The women finished with a 75.0% at the free throw line throughout the night, but the Eagles shut them down from long distance.
The Rangers will be back in action Sunday, December 11th. They will play at Nebraska-Kearney at 12:00 PM.
