Box Score Denver, Colo.: Four separate Rangers reached double figure points in the 76-65 victory over the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls. The women advanced their record to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the RMAC Conference with this second conference game of the season.
The women shot at 92.0% from the charity stripe, hitting on 23-of-25, and 51.0% in total field goals. They out-rebounded their opponents 46 to 29, and had 15 assists throughout the game.
"The hardest I have seen our team play all year came in the first 20 minutes of the first half," commented Head Coach Linda Raunig. "We got a little gassed after that, put some subs in and it made all the difference in the game."
Forward Sarah Feeney led the women with 16 points and 11 rebounds. She hit 7-of-12 from the field and recorded three assists and one block on the night.
Following Feeney with 13 points for the Rangers was post Kari Ameling. She pulled down three rebounds while stealing one and assisting on another. The Greeley, Colo. native hit on 5-of-6 from the field and was a perfect 3-for-3 from the charity stripe.
With 12 points each was forwards Meghan Hollenga and Tae'lor Purdy. Hollenga pulled down nine rebounds while recording two assists, two blocks and one steal. The native of Colorado Springs, Colo. hit on 3-of-4 from the field and was a perfect 6-for-6 on free throws.
Purdy finished with six rebounds, one assist and one steal. She hit 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. Guard Nicole Brzeczek and post Kara Larson had six points each while guard Brandi Collins put up five.
The women will travel to Chadron State on Friday, December 9th. The game will take place at 6:00 PM.
