Box Score Denver, Colo.: Ranger women's basketball took on the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa, besting their opposition 75-70 on the day. Three Rangers reached double figure points and the women shot at 50% from the field and 41.2% from long distance.
The women outscored their opponents in both halves, putting up a two point lead going into the second.
Senior post Kari Ameling led the Rangers with 22 points on the day, while pulling down a team high of six rebounds. The Greeley, Colo. native hit on 9-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe.
Forwards Tae'lor Purdy and Miranda Martine boasted 15 and 14 point performances respectively. Purdy pulled down four rebounds and put up two assists, while hitting on 5-of-11 from the field and a perfect 2-of-2 from three-point range.
Martine pulled down four rebounds and hit on 4-of-6 from long distance and a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line.
Forward Meghan Hollenga tallied six rebounds, five of which came on defense while she also put up six points, two steals, one assist and one block.
Four Mavericks had double figure points throughout the game, including RMAC Player of the Week Katrina Selsor who recorded 14 points. Effo Baker, Tara Gehring and Hillary Duncan each had 11 points.
The women will return to the court Friday, January 6th at Colorado Christian University. The game will start at 6:00 PM.
