Regis Has no Answer for Colorado Mines in 96-45 Loss

Golden, Colo.: Colorado School of Mines shot 58 percent in a 96-45 victory over Regis in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's basketball action tonight.

Regis (6-14 overall, 3-13 RMAC) trailed just 5-4 early in the game before Colorado Mines (17-3 overall, 13-3 RMAC) scored 22 of the next 26 points to open a 27-8 lead with 8:35 remaining in the first half.  The Orediggers kept stretching the lead and went into halftime with a 50-20 lead.

The Rangers connected on just 33.3 percent in the first half and 36.7 percent for the game.  One of the glaring differences in the game was on the boards as Colorado Mines outrebounded the Rangers 22-10 in the first half and 40-23 in the game.

Unfortunately for the Rangers the second half was much like the first and were outscored 46-25 in the second stanza to fall 96-45.

Freshman Jon Conley came off the bench to score a team-high 17 points and grab five rebounds.  Senior Curtis Mitchell and junior Slobodan Jovanovic each chipped in with six points for Regis.

The Rangers will travel to Lakewood, Colo. to take on Colorado Christian on Saturday night.
