Denver, Colo.: The Oredigger's pitching proved to be a challenge for Regis on Saturday as they crossed just one run over the plate on the day. They tallied ten hits against Mines but gave up 15 to fall 3-0 in game one and 9-1 in game two. With the losses, Regis falls to 14-13 overall, 8-8 in RMAC play.
In the top of the fifth, a leadoff walk and single led to two Mines runs when Brinley Benson doubled to left field. They added another run to the board as they took advantage of a Ranger error before the closing of the inning. With these being the only runs of the game, Regis fell 3-0 with Bianca Holley recording the loss and falling to 10-5 this season.
Game two brought an early run for Regis as Nikki Haberkorn doubled to centerfield to bring in Natalie Adami in the bottom of the first. It wasn't long before CSM (19-13, 14-4 RMAC) jumped ahead in the top of the third. Morgan Anderson brought in the first run on a single to right field before Sara Van Lingen hit a two-run homer to left field to put the Orediggers up 3-1.
They took a four run lead in the fourth as they crossed two over the plate and tallied two hits in the inning to sit up 5-1. On four hits, Mines scored four more runs in the top of the sixth as they rallied for three singles, one double, and two walks to go into the bottom of the inning up by eight, 9-1. With the Rangers unable to score, the game ended in six. Recording the loss on the mound was Haberkorn who falls to 4-7 this season.
Up next, Regis will continue their series with the Orediggers as they host CSM on Sunday. First pitch is set for 11:00 a.m.
