Box Score Denver, Colo.: The Regis Lacrosse team struggled early with Fort Lewis before outscoring them 9-2 in the second half to win 15-5.
Regis improved to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association action. Fort Lewis (3-5, 2-1 WILA) got on the board first with 26:22 left in the first half but Regis scored the next three goals to take a lead they would never relinquish. Fort Lewis cut it to one goal a couple of times.
With the score 4-3 in the favor of Regis, the Rangers went on a five goal streak to stretch the lead and put away the Skyhawks.
Freshman Danica Cutshall scored four goals for Regis and also had two assists. Junior Erin Dybus put in three goals, while senior Kelsi Goings, junior Morgan Taylor and sophomore Jessika Carlstrom each put in two goals.
Senior Chani Taggart seeing her first action in goal for the Rangers in her four-year career allowed just the five goals and saved eight other shots.
Regis had 41 shots to just 17 for Fort Lewis including 25-4 in the second half.
Regis will play one more home game on Tuesday against Converse College before heading to the western slope for two games.
