Denver, Colo.: Coming off of a split last Sunday to Nebraska-Kearney, the Rangers dropped two as they traveled across town on Friday to Metro State. Regis tallied four runs on the day, two in each game, to the Roadrunners 16 to fall twice in as many games. Game one ended 6-2 before MSCD run-ruled Regis in five innings, 10-2, in game two.
The Rangers took a one-run lead in game one during the top of the second when Shannon Massine singled to center field to bring in Cassie Long. The Roadrunners answered back with their own run in the bottom of the inning to tie the score at one.
The fourth brought another run and lead for Regis as Natalie Adami doubled to right field before crossing the plate for the Rangers' second run of the game. This lead lasted through the top of the fifth before Metro posted three runs to the board in the bottom of the inning to sit up 4-2 going into the sixth. They tallied four hits in the inning. Another two runs in the sixth put the Roadrunners up 6-2 and with Regis unable to score again, the Rangers fell by four in the game.
Recording the loss for Regis was Bianca Holley who falls to 15-8 this season.
Game two began differently as Metro State took the first lead of the game as they crossed five runs over the plate in the bottom of the first on four hits and a Roadrunner three run home run. With another five runs in the bottom of the second, and another three run bomb, Metro State went up by ten, 10-0.
The Rangers put themselves on the board in the third as they crossed two runs over the plate on a wild pitch and RBI single by Cassie Long. With these being the final runs of the game, Regis fell after five innings, 10-2, to Metro.
Nikki Haberkorn fecorded the loss on the mound and falls to 9-10 this season.
