Box Score Denver, Colo.: The inaugural Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association championship trophy was officialy handed to the Rangers today following a 20-0 shutout of Adams State to conclude a perfect WILA campaign.
Regis (11-2, 6-0 RMAC) outshot Adams State (0-10, 0-5 WILA) 32-7 during the game. The Rangers scored three goals before the fans were even settled in their seats as they took a 3-0 lead under two minutes into the game.
13 different Rangers scored in the game led by Kelsi Goings' three goals. Freshman Danica Cutshall exteded her Regis season record by tallying five assists. Senior Cristina Johnson led the Ranger defense with four ground balls and four draw controls to go along with two caused turnovers.
Senior Chani Taggart played for the third time this season in goal for Regis. She posted her first career shutout and improved to 3-0 on the season by saving three of the seven Grizzly shots.
The Rangers will finish up the regular season with a Friday afternoon matchup with Colorado College at the Regis Lacrosse Field.
