Durango, Colo.: After taking four from Adams State last weekend, the Rangers swept Fort Lewis on Friday in Durango to extend their winning streak to seven and jump to 21-14 overall,15-9 in RMAC play. Game one ended 2-0 in favor of Regis before the Rangers took game two 4-3.
Five innings in game one went scoreless before Regis posted two runs to the board in the sixth to take the lead. Two doubles, by Nikki Haberkorn and Bianca Holley, crossed Natalie Adami and Haberkorn for the winning runs of the game. Holley recorded the win in the circle and jumps to 14-5 this season.
Fort Lewis took a one-run lead in game one during the first inning before Regis matched their run in the top of the second. A Skyhawk error put a Ranger on and led to a run in the inning as Cassie Long singled up the middle.
Another Skyhawk run in the bottom of the third and fourth put Fort Lewis up 3-1 going into the fifth. The Rangers crossed another run in the fifth to sit down by one, 3-2, going into the bottom of the inning. A leadoff triple by Shannon Massine put a Ranger on third for Sara Baumberger who brought her in.
The sixth brought two more runs for Regis. Another FLC error led to the first run for Regis before Amber Aragon-Autobee singled for the second run and RBI. With Fort Lewis unable to score during the remainder of the game, the Rangers snagged game two 4-3. Recording the win on the mound was Haberkorn who sits at 7-8 this season.
Up next, Regis will face Mesa State in Durango on Saturday. First pitch is set for 11:00 a.m.
