The Regis Rangers scored seven goals in today's win against the Colorado Christian Cougars of Lakewood, Colo.

They had seven different men score a goal on the day.  The first goal came unassisted from forward Ben Buhler in the fifth minute of play.  In the twelfth minute, midfielder Stephen Reed won the ball at midfield.  Reed then passed to Emge who gave it right back to him to score the second goal of the game.

Forward Martin Maybin also had a goal for the Rangers.  Midfielder Logan Miller had a free kick in the 23rd minute from which Maybin scored.  The last goal of the first half came from midfielder Patrick Freeman who received the ball from midfielder Ben Fredrickson.  Going into the second half, the score was 4-0 in favor of the Rangers.

On the day, Maybin said "we were more clinical today."  He went on to comment "we put away more chances than other games, which will help us with bigger games coming up."

The Cougars could not keep the Rangers from scoring in the second half either.  In the 52nd minute of play, Miller passed to Maybin, who flipped to forward Kyle Emge who finished off the play with the fifth goal of the game.  Forward Kyle Carlisle also scored in the 76th minute unassisted.

Head coach Tony McCall stated that "it's good to start of conference with a home win.  We played well, moved the ball and created a lot of opportunities.  The boys are doing well."  He continued "going into the stretch of games ahead of us, we are comfortable, healthy, and we feel we have good depth for a long conference schedule."  He finished with, "it's always good to have a clean sheet."

The final goal of the game came in the 82nd minute.  Colorado Christian fouled which gave the Rangers a free kick on the play.  From the free kick, midfielder Justin Ortinau passed to Taylor Diem who ripped it into the goal to finish the play.

Goalkeeper Chris Couperus will receive the win for the Rangers.  The Ranger's defense held the Cougars to only three shots, none of which were on goal.  The Rangers had 17 shots on goal and six assists on the day.

The Rangers will play again at home on Wednesday, September 21st against cross town rivals, Metro State.  The game will start at 4:30 PM.
