Rangers Lose 3-1 to Mavericks

The women's soccer team lost 3-1 to the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo.  Junior Maddie Reeves scored the only goal for the Rangers in the second half of the game.

The first goal came in the first half by CMUs Kelci Crispe in the 17th minute.  She received an assist by Daniela Salinas and shot from 30 yards out.  The ball came in over the goalkeeper Ellen Augsburger.  The second goal came in the 41st.  Maverick Kelci Crispe crossed to Kaitlynn Holt who scored in the left side of the goal.

In the 49th minute, Reeves scored for the Rangers assisted by Rachel McMahon.  Reeves shot from 23 yards out into the left side of the net. 

The last goal by Mesa came in the 71st minute by Tayler Franklin.  She was assisted by Deaniela Salinas.  The Mavericks had possession in front of the net.  From the assist, Franklin scored in the right side of the net. 

The Rangers had nine shots on goal and seven corner kicks.  Augsburger had one save on the day.  CMU goalie Arielle Harris will get the win tallying eight saves. 

This game will bring the Ranger's record to 3-3 for the current season.  The women will play again Wednesday, September 21st against Metro State.  The game will take place at the Regis Match Pitch at 2:00 PM.
