Ranger Women's Basketball Falls Short against #4 Skyhawks

Denver, Colo.:  The Ranger women's basketball program took on the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks Saturday night in the Regis Field House.  The Skyhawks stand at #4 in the nation and #1 in the RMAC Conference, and the team demonstrated their skill on the hardwood tonight as they bested the Regis team 69-55. 

Ranger Brandi Collins was the leading scorer for the women in today's game, scoring 12 points on the night.  She also pulled down four rebounds.

Forward Meghan Hollenga put on a show tonight for the Ranger fans as well as she was good for nine points and 10 rebounds on the night.  She hit on 4-of-5 from the field and tallied four steals and two assists for the Rangers.

Also with nine points for the Rangers were forwards Miranda Martine and Tae'lor Purdy.  Martine was good for 3-of-7 from the field including a 2-of-5 performance from long distance.  She pulled down four rebounds and helped the women out with four steals against the Skyhawks.

Purdy hit two field goals against the Skyhawks.  She was good for 5-of-8 at the charity stripe.

Top performers for the Skyhawks included forward Dana Schreibvogel and guard Stephanie Beeman.  Schreibvogel hit on 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe for a 15 point performance.   She also pulled down 10 rebounds for the Skyhawks.

Beeman hit on 6-of-7 from the field including a perfect 3-of-3 from long distance and 1-of-1 from the free throw line.  She was good for 16 points on the night.

The Rangers will travel to Colorado Mesa on Friday January 27th to take on the Mavericks at 5:30 PM and to Western State on Saturday, January 28th to play at 6:00 PM.
