Rangers Overcome Cowgirls 2-1

LAS VEGAS, N.M.:  Regis women's soccer over overcame N.M. Highlands after falling to a 1-0 deficit late in the first half.  The Rangers put one goal in the shortly after the Cowgirls and another in the second half to gain the advantage for the 2-1 RMAC victory.

This match brings Regis to 8-4-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the RMAC conference.

Highlands put one past the Rangers defense in the 32nd minute of play.

It was in the 41st minute that Regis evened the score.  Senior Marissa Davis gained possession of the ball at center midfield.  She passed in to junior Meghan Stuart who scored from the right side of the penalty box. 

The half closed 1-1, but the Rangers would score the goal early in the second half that would give them the victory.  

Freshman Sade Akindele passed to sophomore Kendal Kagawa.  Kagawa sent the ball in to freshman Sidny Otto who scored past the Cowgirl's goalkeeper into the bottom right of the goal.

Junior Ellen Augsburger spent all 90:00 minutes in goal tallying three saves on the day.

Regis will continue their road trip in Lakewood, Colo. on Sunday, October 14th.  The match against Colorado Christian University will take place at 1:00 PM.
