Rangers Down Grizzlies 3-1 on the Road

ALAMOSA, Colo.:  Regis University women's soccer began their end of season RMAC road trip with a big 3-1 win over Adams State College.  The Rangers outshot the Grizzlies 18-7 throughout the day, and netted their first goal of the match in the sixth minute of play.

Their record improves to 10-2-1 in the RMAC  and 12-4-1 overall after the victory.

Freshman Sidny Otto earned a foul inside the 18, and was awarded a penalty kick opportunity.  She finished to the right of the Adams goalkeeper for the goal.

Senior Marissa Davis and junior Meghan Stuart connected for the next Ranger goal.  Off a free kick to the right of the 18 yard box, David crossed to Stuart who went up and beat Grizzly defenders for to the ball for the goal.

In the 21st minute, the Grizzlies answered with a goal of their own off a penalty kick.

The rest of the first half remained silent as no more goals were scored, but the Rangers were sure not to leave the match without scoring at least one more. 

With nine minutes left on the clock, Stuart passed in to freshman Sade Akindele.  Akindele ripped the ball to the top left of the goal to bring the Rangers up 3-1 on the day.

Junior goalkeeper Ellen Augsburger earned four saves on the day.

The Rangers will continue their trip on the road in Durango, Colo.  They will take on Fort Lewis College on Sunday, October 28 at 1:00 PM
