Box Score ANCHORAGE, Alaska: Ranger women's basketball took a tough 85-76 loss in their season opener at nationally ranked 22nd Alaska-Anchorage on Friday.
Regis put up a late lead in the first half, ending it trailing 41-40. They went 7-0 to start the second half over the SeaWolves, but Anchorage regained the lead with a pair of threes to win out the game.
Senior Meghan Hollenga led the Rangers with 13 points and six rebounds. She hit 2-for-4 from the field and a perfect 9-9 at the free throw line. The forward also had four assists and three steals on the night.
Senior Kara Larson and sophomore Sarah Seefeldt each put up 10 points on the day. They both went 5-for-7 from the field. Larson put up five rebounds while Seefeldt put up four.
Regis hit 53.1 percent from the field and 86.4 percent from the free throw line.
The Rangers will play Anchorage again Saturday, November 17 at 5:00 PM.
