Box Score DENVER, Colo.: Regis University women's basketball dropped a tough loss to nationally ranked #8 University of Indianapolis 65-56 tonight after putting in two big halves of strong play.
The Rangers put up 29 points in the first half, finishing the first 20 minutes with a 10 point deficit to the Greyhounds. The Rangers outscored Indianapolis in the second half by one, but it wasn't enough to close out the lead and take the game.
Senior Sarah Feeney led the Rangers with a big 21 points and nine rebounds on the night. She hit nine-of-20 from the field, two from long distance and one free throw as well as putting up two assists and two blocks.
Junior Tae'lor Purdy also had a big night for Regis, netting 14 points and four rebounds on the night before fouling out with five minutes left in the game. She hit four from the field and two for three point range, while also going 4-for-5 at the charity stripe.
Junior Brandi Collins and senior Kaitie Vader put up eight points apiece. Collis led the Rnagers with five assists and put up one rebound and one steal as well. Vader saw most of her minutes in the second half, sinking three-of-three from the field and 2-of-2 from long distance for her performance.
Senior Meghan Hollenga had nine rebounds for the Rangers while also putting up two assists, one steal and one block.
The Rangers hit 35% from the field, 33.3% from three-point range and 54.5% from the charity stripe on the night.
Regis will play next at Metro State on December 1st at 5:00 PM.
