Box Score DENVER, Colo.: The Rangers (4-5) won their second home match up of the weekend Sunday afternoon, defeating the YellowJackets 86-50 on the night.
Junior Tae'lor Purdy and senior Sarah Feeney had 27 and 24 points respectively. It was the first time the Rangers have had two players reach over twenty points in one game since Purdy and junior Brandi Collins did it against Colorado Christian University on February 6 of the 2011-12 season.
Purdy had a stand out performance, hitting 6-of-7 from long distance, five out of six of which were in the first half alone. She hit eight from field and 5-for-6 from the charity stripe while also pulling down five rebounds.
Her very first three of night, six seconds into the game; gave the Rangers a lead they would keep for 40:00 minutes of play.
The Rangers had a big first half, closing out the first with a 47-18 lead over Black Hills State University. They outscored the YellowJackets 39-32 to finish the game with a 36 point lead.
Feeney hit seven from the field and gave a 3-for-4 performance from three point range while also going 7-of-9 from the free throw line and pulling down three rebounds.
Seniors Meghan Hollenga and Kara Larson led Regis with seven rebounds apiece throughout the game.
As a team, the Rangers forced 25 turnovers on the night, scoring 36 points off the efforts. The Regis bench also held their own, totaling 17 points off the bench.
They hit 47.4 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from long distance and 80.0 percent from the charity stripe.
The Rangers will return home on Friday, January 4 to take on Western N.M. in the Regis Fieldhouse at 5:00 PM.
