Turnovers Prove to be too Much to Overcome in Loss to Metro State

Box Score

Denver, Colo.: The third-ranked Metro State Roadrunners showed their might with an 88-65 victory over Regis in both teams first RMAC game.

Regs (1-3) led early on a three pointer by sophomore Dylan King but that would be the end as the Roadrunners (5-0) slowly increased their lead and went into the halftime break with a 48-28 lead.

The Rangers offense woke up in the second half and played Metro State tight scoring 37 points to 40 for the Roadrunners.  The Rangers were hurt by turnovers, especially in the first half, where they had 18.  They only had five in the second half.

Junior Jon Conley came off the bench to put in a team-high 13 points and ranked second with four boards.  Senior Demitrius Owens and King each chipped in with 12 points, with Owens grabbing a team-high nine caroms.

The usual sure-fire Rangers hit just 15-of-29 from the free throw line (51.7 percent).

Regis travels to play CSU-Pueblo on Friday at 7:30 p.m. where they will try and break a 32-game road losing streak.
