Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.: Regis women's basketball took another tough RMAC loss today, falling 68-54 to UC-Colorado Springs on the road. This defeat brings the Rangers to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Mountain Lions put up 50% across the boards in the first half to put a 35-16 lead over the Rangers.
Regis outshot UCCS 38-33 in the second half, but could not overcome the deficit to grab the win.
Junior Tae'lor Purdy and senior Kaitie Vader led the Ranger offensive efforts with 14 and 11 points respectively.
Purdy (14pts), hit on four from the field and six-of-seven from the charity stripe for her performance. The forward also led the Rangers with nine rebounds, while putting up one steal, one block and one assist.
Vader (11pts) was good for four-of-six from the field, 2-of-2 from the free-throw line and one from long distance. She pulled down four rebounds while putting up one assist and one steal as well.
Senior Kara Larson also performed well on defense, pulling down seven rebounds for the Rangers. Seniors Sarah Feeney and Meghan Hollenga had six apiece.
The Rangers will take on Chadron State at home on Saturday, December 15 for their next RMAC competition. The game will take place in the Regis Fieldhouse at 5:00 PM.
