Box Score Pueblo, Colo.: Cold shooting doomed the Regis men's basketball team tonight in an 82-58 loss to CSU-Pueblo in RMAC action.
Regis (1-4, 0-2 RMAC) was able to stay with CSU-Pueblo (2-7, 1-2 RMAC) in the first half thanks to five three-point baskets. The Thunderwolves led just 28-26 with two minutes remaining in the first half but was able to go on a 9-1 run to close out the half with a 37-27 lead.
The Rangers closed the gap to eight points, early in the second half but an 11-3 run by the home team put the game away as they went on for the 24-point win.
The points in the paint were where the Rangers got beat as they were outscored 46-18 and were also outscored at the free throw line 17-9.
Junior Jarrett Green again led the way with 14 points, including four three pointers. Senior Dionte Goodlett came off the bench and hit all three of his shots for nine points. Junior Jon Conley and freshmen Kevin Marshall and Billy Hansen each chipped in with seven points. Marshall led the team with four assists and ranked second with four rebounds.
Senior Demitrius Owens pulled down a game-high eight rebounds including four on the offensive end.
Regis will take on UC-Colorado Springs on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.
