Box Score 2 St. Paul, Minn.: The Regis University women's volleyball team headed north to take on #1 ranked Concorida-St. Paul and #6 ranked Southwest Minnesota State at the Concorida Volleyball Tournament.
Unforatunately the Rangers came up short in both contest falling by identical 3-0 score. The five-time defending NCAA Division II champions Concordia won by scores of 25-17, 25-11, 25-14 while the Mustangs ended the Rangers day with winning scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-14.
Regis (0-2) hit .121 and .083 respectively. Freshman Caitie Breaux led the Ranger offensive attack in the first game with eight kills, while fellow freshman Katie Klein notched six. Junior Sage Martinson dug out eight balls while sophomore Gina Morgan put down two blocks.
In the nightcap, Klein and senior Caitlin McDonnell each tallied eight kills for Regis while Breaux had six. Freshman Jaclyn Williamson had a team-high 18 assists, while three Rangers were in double figures in digs. Klein led the Rangers with 14 digs, while sophomore Maya Kirkeby had 11 and senior Makayla Higgins digging out 10. Morgan again had two blocks to pace the Rangers.
Regis will look to get into the win column with two games tomorrow against Hillsdale and BYU-Hawaii.
