Box Score Denver, Colo.: The 18th-ranked Regis University volleyball team cruised to a set straight victory over South Dakota Mines in non-conference action.
Regis (8-4) has won four in a row and seven of the last eight and dispensed of the over-matched Hardrockers (5-8) in just over an hour. The Rangers won 25-16, 25-18 and 25-12 before heading out on the road this weekend in RMAC action.
The Rangers had just eight errors, a season low and a .453 attack percentage, a season high. The .453 attack percentage is the third highest total since 2006.
All 12 of the Ranger players got in the game and everyone that had an attack attempt hit better than a .333. Caitie Breaux and Katie Klein again led the way offensively with 11 and 10 kills respectively. Senir Caitlin McDonnell put down six kills while freshman Laura Schroeder came off the bench to put down a career-high five kills. She was joined by senior Makayla Higgins with five also.
Freshman Jaclyn Williamson had 27 assists in two sets, while fellow freshman Rebecca Sponcil had 16 assists in one set. Junior Sage Martinson had 14 digs with Williamson just behind her at eight.
Regis will head out on the road to take on Colorado Christian on Friday and Colorado Mines on Saturday.
