Box Score Lakewood, Colo.: The Regis University volleyball team dropped their second in a row as they fell to Colorado Christian 3-1 in RMAC action.
The Rangers (15-11, 11-6 RMAC) took set one by a score of 25-15. The Rangers led 6-5 and then scored six of the next seven points to take a 12-6 lead and cruised from there. Colorado Christian (17-10, 11-6 RMAC) led early in the second set but Regis roared back to tie the set at 14. The next several points went back and forth and at 20-20 is when CCU put the set away. They scored five of the next six points to take the set 25-21.
The Rangers were flat in sets three and four and never really challenged the Cougars and fell 25-17 and 25-19 to tie the Rangers for fourth place in the RMAC standings.
CCU hit .294 for the match with Regis at .224. CCU had 10 total blocks to just four for the Rangers.
Gina Morgan, Caitie Breaux and Katie Klein each led the team with 14 kills. Morgan had her 14 kills on 24 swings with no errors to lead the Rangers with a .583 attack percentage, while also leading the team with three total blocks, including one solo. Maggie Steward chipped in with eight kills. Jaclyn Williamson dished out 50 assists and had nine digs, while Maya Kirkeby led the team with 18 digs. Sage Martinson was next with 12, while Steward chipped in with 11.
The Rangers will return to the friendly confines of the Regis Fieldhouse for the regular season finale against Chadron State on Friday and Black Hills State on Saturday.
