Box Score SPEARFISH, S.D.: Regis women's basketball dropped to the YellowJackets of Black Hills State University tonight, losing 95-83 to drop their record to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
BHSU outshot RU 39-31 in the first half before keeping their roll going 56-52 in the second to snag the win.
Sophomore Bay'lee Purdy led the Rangers with 21 points after knocking down five from 3-point range and eight total from the field.
Senior Tae'lor Purdy earned yet another double-double (7th) on the season after draining 18 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. She went 6-13 from the field while also netting four from long distance to aid in the Rangers' efforts.
Fellow senior Brandi Collins garnered her first double-double on the season after putting in 14 points and putting up 12 assists. She went an impressive 5-6 from the field and a perfect 4-4 from long distance during her efforts.
Junior Sarah Seefeldt also put in a big impact on the offensive, owning 14 points after going 6-12 from field goal range.
Despite shooting an impressive 52.5 percent from the field, 53.6 from long distance and 50.0 percent from the charity stripe as a team, RU could not overcome the buckets scored by their opponents for the win.
Next time Regis will play will be in the New Year on January 3, 2014. The Rangers will take on Western New Mexico in Silver City, N.M. at 5:30 p.m. before taking on New Mexico Highlands at 6:00 p.m. in Las Vegas New Mexico.
