Senior Purdy Commands Court in Rangers 61-54 Victory over Roadrunners; Snags Fourth Double-Double of Season

DENVER, Colo.:  Senior Tae'lor Purdy and the Rangers came out with a huge win over the Roadrunners of Metro State tonight, commanding the court 61-55 in the game.

Regis was down 35-27 at halftime to their opponents, but outscored the Roadrunners 34-19 after a 25-2 run over 13 minutes of game time in the second half.

Forward Purdy led the Rangers with her fourth double-double of the season in RUs fifth game of 2013, advancing Regis to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

She was good for an impressive 25 points and 19 rebounds, 15 of which were defensive throughout the game.  The senior also picked up four assists and one block, while shooting a perfect 6-6 from long distance during the contest.  She had 14 points and 13 rebounds in the second half alone for Regis.

Her 19 rebounds is second highest (1st being 20 in 2005 by Denise Lopez) in a Regis single game output and her 1.000 percentage (6-6) performance at 3-point range is ties for first in the record books, updated from 2003-present.

Junior Sarah Seefeldt was good for nine points and three rebounds herself in the game after hitting three from the field and going 3-5 from the charity stripe.

The Rangers outshot their opponents, garnering a 40.4 percentage from the field and a 50.0 percentage from long distance.

Next weekend, Regis will take on Colorado State-Pueblo on Fri., Dec. 13 at 5:00 p.m. for competing with UC Colorado Springs at 3:00 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 14.

On Friday, Regis will be hosting a Canned Food Drive.  Each person that brings a can of food will receive $1.00 off admission for each can (i.e. 8 cans = free admission).
