Box Score ALAMOSA, Colo.: Regis University women's basketball earned their first RMAC tournament berth since the 2008-09 season where the Rangers fell to Colorado Mines in the quarterfinals.
The Rangers clinched the berth with their 56-47 victory over Adams State tonight in Alamosa, Colo.
Regis is now 10-13 overall, 9-10 in the RMAC for the 2012-13 season.
Senior Meghan Hollenga and junior Tae'lor Purdy combined for 28 points in the win. Hollenga led the Rangers with 16 points after shooting five-for-nine from the field and five-for-seven from the charity stripe.
Purdy led the Rangers with a big 11 rebounds, while also putting in 12 points. The forward also had two assists and two steals on the night.
The Rangers were good for 21-of-66 field goal attempts, giving them a 31.8 shooting percentage from the field on the day.
They were only one bucket ahead of the Grizzlies going into the second half, but came out strong early to pull ahead.
Regis outscored Adams State 31-24 in the second half alone to earn the win.
The Rangers continue their trip to Durango, Colo. where they will take on the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks.
