Box Score DENVER, Colo.: Regis University women's basketball fell at home tonight, 59-52 to the strong offense of Colorado Christian University. Junior Tae'lor Purdy put up 19 points in the effort, but the Cougars hitting 50 percent from the field outmatched the Ranger defense throughout the game.
The Rangers trailed by four points at the half, and kept the game close throughout the second, but couldn't close the gap to grab the win.
Purdy hit seven from the field, including two from long distance and a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line. She also had four rebounds, three steals and two assists on the night.
Senior Meghan Hollenga and sophomore Erica Von Stein each had nine points on the night. Hollenga hit four from the field and one from the charity stripe while Von Stein was good for three from three-point range.
Seniors Sarah Feeney and Miranda Martine led the Rangers with seven rebounds apiece. Martine also had five steals and two assists while Feeney had four steals and two assists herself.
The Rangers will stay at home Saturday, Feb. 9 to take on Colorado School of Mines at 3:00 p.m.
