Denver, Colo.: The 13th-ranked Regis University volleyball team will look upon five returning starters to take them back to the NCAA Tournament...and hopefully beyond. Super sophomores Caitie Breaux and Katie Klein, both All-RMAC performers, are returning along with senior libero Sage Martinson along with sophomore setters Jaclyn Williamson and Rebecca Sponcil.
The Rangers will now have a target on their back as they were picked to win the RMAC title after winning the RMAC Tournament a season ago. RU, who was 26-9 as season ago, welcome four newcomers to the team. Sophomore Alessandra Orlandini will provide depth in the back row, while the Rangers were bolstered up front with 6-3 middle blocker Diamond Ridley-Pierce along with Maggie Steward and Sophia Proano.
Head Coach Frank Lavrisha, who is 564-305 in 26 seasons, is excited about the season. "We have a great core coming back and with our newcomers it only strengthens our team, says Lavrisha.
The Rangers begin their season at the CSU-San Bernardino Coyote Classic on September 6th with four games before returning home for four more in the Colorado Premier Challenge at Regis and Metro State.
