Rangers Use Second Half on the Hardwood to Propel to 89-77 Victory over Orediggers

DENVER, Colo.:  After being tied 36-36 going into the second half, Regis overcame the Mines defense to finish with an 89-77 victory over the Orediggers.

Seniors Tae'lor Purdy and Brandi Collins along with sophomore Bay'lee Purdy led the Rangers with double figure points on offense. 

In the second half, both Purdy's went off on the hardwood with Tae'lor snagging 16 points and Bay'lee being good for 12.  This help gave the Rangers the 53-41 advantage in the second half for the win.

The elder Purdy led the team with her tenth double-double of the 2013-14 season after putting in 26 points and pulling down a big 15 rebounds on the night.  She snagged eight from the field including two from long distance and went a near-perfect 8-9 from the free throw line on the night.

Collins had a season-high 21 points during the game and led the team with six assists and four steals.  She hit eight from the field and went 4-5 from the charity stipe.

The younger Purdy snagged 14 points for RU after knocking down 4-7 from long distance and hitting five overall from the field.

The Rangers ended the night outscoring their opponents in all categories, finishing with a 46.4 percentage from the field, a 37.5 percentage from long range and a 72.7 percentage from the charity stripe.

Regis will return to their home court in the Regis Fieldhouse tomorrow, January 11, 2014 to take on Colorado Christian University at 3:00 p.m.  During the game, before and after, Regis will be hosting Young Alumni night to honor all that the past Regis Alumni have done for the Ranger programs in all sports.
