Box Score Denver, Colo.: The Regis men's basketball team knew they had a tough task in front of them when #11 Colorado Mines came to the Regis Fieldhouse and the Orediggers left with a 87-49 win.
Regis (4-9, 1-7 RMAC) couldn't contend inside with the decidedly bigger Orediggers (12-0, 8-0 RMAC). CSM jumped out to an 18-2 lead with Regis not scoring in over four minutes after Kevin Marshall tied the score at two.
The Rangers hit just 30 percent from the field, while CSM 60 percent from the floor including 9-of-14 (64.3 percent) from long range. The Rangers did force the Orediggers into 20 turnovers, a season-high from a team that has only had four double figure turnover games.
Marshall led the Rangers with nine points and three steals. Joseph Bodman chipped in with eight points. Mike MacKelvie supplied six points, while Billy Hansen came off the bench to put in two three pointers. Corbin Green also came off the bench and led the team with a season-best six rebounds to go along with five points.
Regis will host Colorado Christian Saturday evening at 5:00 p.m.
