Box Score DENVER, Colo.: Regis women's basketball went across town tonight to take on Metropolitan State University of Denver in yet another Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition. The Rangers picked up the 72-61 victory after outscoring the opposition in the second half.
With the victory, RU advances to 13-9 overall and 11-7 in the RMAC on the season.
Both teams were tied at 36 at halftime, but the Rangers put in a strong second half performance, earning another 36 points to go up 72-61 over the Roadrunners.
Regis outscored the opposition with a 47.3 field goal percentage and a 72.0 free throw percentage.
Senior Tae'lor Purdy and junior Sarah Seefeldt led RU with 16 points apiece.
The elder Purdy garnered her 11th double-double of the season after pulling down 13 off the boards as well. She hit four from the field, including two from long range for her offensive effort.
Seefeldt put up an impressive 7-8 performance from the paint and pulled down four rebounds for the Rangers.
Sophomore Bay'lee Purdy added 12 points and six rebounds to the effort. She hit four from the field and went 4-5 from the charity stripe while also adding two assists and one block and steal.
Another big performance came from freshman Kaycee Hert who put in 11 points and pulled down seven. She went 5-7 from the field and snagged two assists and one block on the night.
Next weekend, the Rangers will take on Adams State University at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 22 before challenging Fort Lewis College at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 23.
